EMDR Therapy in Fairfield County — Available Virtually
Trauma-focused therapy for people who understand their patterns but still feel stuck in them.
Is This You?
-
You've done talk therapy before, and it helped you understand why — but the same reactions, fears, or patterns keep showing up.
-
A specific memory, loss, or event still feels present when you think about it, even though it happened long ago.
-
You feel stuck in your body — tension, panic, or shutting down — in ways that talking it through hasn't fully resolved.
-
You're high-functioning on the outside, but certain triggers still derail you.
-
You're ready for something that works differently than traditional talk therapy.
Why Work With Me
Hi, I'm Randi Corrigan, MA, LMHC, LPC. I'm EMDR trained, and I've spent most of my career working with people who are carrying more than they let on. I started in substance-use treatment, with people who had lost nearly everything short of their heartbeat and their faith.
That work shaped how I think about trauma: it's not just something you talk about, it's something that lives in the body and the nervous system.
That's exactly what EMDR is built to address - not just new insight, but an actual shift in how a memory or belief sits in your system.
I believe every person deserves to heal and reach contentment, no matter what they're carrying. That's the work I want to do with you.

How EMDR Works
-
Target: We identify the memory, belief, or pattern that's still holding charge.
-
Reprocess: Using bilateral stimulation — guided eye movements, taps, or sound — we help your brain move that memory from "stuck" to "resolved."
-
Integrate: You leave sessions lighter, with fewer triggers and a calmer nervous system, not just new understanding.
Who EMDR Helps

Is Virtual as effective as in-person? Yes, absolutely. I did my training virtually and found it to be very effective.
How many sessions will I need? It varies by person — some people feel a shift in 5-6 sessions, others do longer-term work. We'll talk through what makes sense in our first session.
What if I'm scared to talk about my trauma? You don't have to describe it in detail to do this work. That's actually one of the biggest differences between EMDR and traditional talk therapy — instead of narrating the story out loud, we work with the memory using bilateral stimulation while you notice what comes up. You stay in control of how much you share, and we move at whatever pace feels safe.
